The Mita Congregation is founded in Arecibo, Puerto Rico with 11 brothers.
1940
Inauguration of the first temple located in the Las Monjas sector in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
January 11, 1943
The headquarters of the Congregation is moved from Arecibo to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Corps of
Guards is established.
1947
The Mita Congregation arrives in New York.
1948
The String Ensemble is established.
1950
The El Paraíso Farm is acquired.
1951
The Mita Band was established.
1956
Rosinín joins the Church of Mita.
1962
The Mita Congregation arrives in the Dominican Republic.
1963
The Mita Band participates in the Puerto Rican Parade in New York City.
1969
Passing of Juanita García Peraza and Aarón assumes the leadership of the Congregation. The Church of
Mita arrives in Colombia.
1970
The Hermanos Unidos Savings and Credit Union is founded.
1974
The Bayamón farm is acquired.
1976
The Mita Congregation arrives in Mexico.
1980
Mita Congregation School is founded.
1981
The Mita Congregation arrives in Venezuela.
1982
The Égida e Instutición El Paraíso (Shelter House) is established. The Office of Guidance and Social
Work is established.
1985
The Mita Congregation arrives in Costa Rica. The Harp Ensemble is established. The Crafts and Mold
Pieces Fair begins.
1986
The Mita Congregation arrives in Panama.
1987
The Mita Band wins the President Award at a band competition in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
1988
Celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Mita Congregation and inauguration of the New Temple.
Los Hermanos Corporation is established. America Bakery and Pastry is established. The Mita Choir is
organized.
1990
The Mita Congregation arrives in Canada.
1991
The Band of Mita is invited by the government of Puerto Rico to participate in the commemoration of
the 500 years of the Discovery of The Americas in Seville, Spain (Expo-92).
1992
The Mita Congregation arrives in El Salvador.
1993
The Mita Congregation arrives in Spain.
2003
Los Hermanos Memorial Park is inaugurated.
2010
Aaron names Rosinin "Spiritual Mother".
2012
The Mita Band participates in a parade in the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World.
2018
Passing of Aarón and Rosinín assumes the leadership of the Congregation.
