About Us

The Mita Congregation is a Christian church, organized in Arecibo (Puerto Rico) in the year 1940, whose doctrine is based on the Holy Bible, Reina-Valera version. We are the continuation of the primitive church established by Christ and confirmed by the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4). Our foundation is the Most Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We firmly believe that the Bible testifies to the work of God. We accept and emphasize the practice of the Biblical precepts established by God in the Old and the New Testament. We believe in the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ, who said that He would send the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to be with His children forever (John 14:16). By faith, the Mita Congregation believes that the Holly Spirit of God is on earth, that His new name is Mita and that through Rosinín, He directs His work (Revelation 2:17, 3:12).

This Congregation carries out a work of good, love and spiritual improvement. We proclaim a triple message of Love, Freedom and Unity, so that everyone who feels the need for God receives the redemptive word, making him or her a person transformed by His grace (2 Corinthians 5:17) (Ephesians 2:8-10).

We believe that the first dispensation of the Divine Trinity was that of the Father, where with the name of Jehovah, God guided His people through the prophets (Isaiah 42:8). The second dispensation is that of God as Son, with the name of Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:13-17). Now, the third dispensation is that of the Holy Spirit, where God with His new name Mita, directs His people through His prophets (1 John 5:7). At the beginning of this Congregation, Mita led this church through Juanita García Peraza; then through Teófilo Vargas Seín (Aarón) and now through Rosinín Rodríguez.

The name of Mita —whose meaning is Spirit of Life— is the fulfillment of the Biblical prophecies that indicated that God would reveal a new name for these days (Isaiah 52:6, 62:2. Revelation 2:17 and 3:12). When we talk about Mita in our religious services, we are not referring to the human body of Juanita García Peraza, but we refer to the Holy Spirit of God manifested in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16).
