The Work of Mita arrived in Panamanian lands in 1987. The young Aurora Bradbury was taking a class at the university with Lidia Ortiz, Puerto Rican, and member of the Congregation. Lidia invited Aurora to visit Puerto Rico. Aurora accepts the invitation, visits several tourist places, and also attends the Mita Congregation. Great was her experience when she entered the temple and contemplated a church in white garments that danced in the Spirit and glorified God. The service had a great impact on her, the preaching was reaching her heart and upon receiving Aarón's call to convert, she immediately accepted the prayer. The next day she had the opportunity to visit the pastoral house of the Congregation and spoke with Aarón, an event that she took advantage of to ask him if the Congregation was in Panama. Aaron replies no, but that when she returned, she would tell her family and friends what she had known and received. Upon her return, with great emotion, she told her relatives what she had experienced and they sent a letter to Aarón asking him to send them workers (pastors). Not many days passed when Aarón sent the worker Amador Laureano and his wife Virginia Kater, who were preaching in Costa Rica.
The first service was held on July 13, 1987, in the home of the Caballero family, and when the call was made, 50 people joined. Great was the blessing that four months later they received the visit of Aaron. Today, the Mita Congregation in Panama has hundreds of parishioners distributed in Panama City, Chilibre subdivision and in the Copé area, Coclé province. In addition, the congregation has a Wind Band that officiates in the main temple, located in Chilibre. In 2022, they received a visit from Rosinín and a group of brothers from Puerto Rico.
