Puerto Rico

The Mita Congregation began in 1940 in the town of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Juanita García Peraza, together with eleven brothers, begins this work of redemption, transformation, and love. Quickly, the congregation spread throughout the island of Puerto Rico. It was so much growth, that by 1960 a big temple was inaugurated on Duarte #235 street.

After the death of Juanita García Peraza, Aarón begins a massive dissemination of the divine message by radio, press and television, reaching thousands and thousands of souls worldwide.

In 1990, the New Temple of the Mita Congregation in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was opened with capacity for 6,500 people sitting.

In 2021 Aarón passed away and Rosinín remained in front of the congregation. Today, the Church of Mita has spread throughout Puerto Rico, being the world headquarters of this Congregation of the Holy Spirit of God.

Among the thousands of miracles that the Holy Spirit has made in Puerto Rico, is that of our brother Tico Damiani. In 1949, he lived in New York City and had been since 1932 (17 years) under multiple treatments, facing an incurable skin disease. About twenty doctors had already told him that he could never go to tropical countries since sweat was going to be food to the bacteria he had in his body. In these circumstances, Tico Damiani knows about the Church of Mita in New York. God's message from the lips of Juanita García Peraza touched him so deeply in his soul, that he decided to move to Puerto Rico. Upon arriving at the island, what doctors had indicated to him began to be fulfilled. His condition was complicated, and his neck and hands skin had already been consumed. In the midst of that dire situation, Brother Tico attends a vigil in the Santana neighborhood in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. In that vigil the Holy Spirit manifested Himself powerfully and said through the mouth of the Person of Mita to all present: «This is the Pool de Siloam, and everyone who has faith and believes that I Am the angel who removed the waters in ancient times, present your illness ». Our brother presented his illness to the Lord to have mercy on him. The infection that he had suffered for 17 years, disappeared forever. Our brother lived in Puerto Rico for more than 40 years and never experienced any problem in his skin. He was a preacher, composer and the first photographer of the congregation, who documented in photos and videos the history of this church in the 50s and 60s.

Another great testimony occurred, in 1980, with Brother Juan Soto. One Sunday, at 2:00 p. m., a service was being carried out in the temple. Brother Juan had been suffering from heart problems and with the heat generated by the crowd and by the time of the day, his problem worsened, suffering a heart attack. He was assisted by Dr. Luis Daniel Silva. Then, seeing that Juan had no pulse, tells Aarón that he had died. Aarón quickly got off the pulpit and headed where the inert body of Brother Juan Soto was lying. When Aarón arrived before him, he rebuked death and with power, The Holy Spirit through his mouth said: "Death, leave him, you have no power. I order you to leave him. I am the father, and I am here". Suddenly, the brother opened his eyes and got up, causing the joy and astonishment of all present. Brother Juan, after this event, lived about 25 more years, being a faithful and persevering brother in this congregation.
