Dominican Republic

A Dominican named Melchor joined the Church of Mita in the early 60s in Puerto Rico. He asks The Person of Mita to send preachers to the Dominican lands. This is how in the month of April 1963, The Person of Mita sends the evangelist Aurelio Morales (Miqueas) to establish the congregation in the Dominican Republic. The first service was in the Villa Agrícolas sector in Santo Domingo. Then, Miqueas moves to the city of Santiago de los Caballeros where through Mireya Minier, who had also joined the church in Puerto Rico, a service is held. In Santiago de los Caballeros it was where the first congregation was established in Quisqueya’s lands. The Person of Mita arrives for the first time on November 21, 1963, and a service took place in the city of Santiago.

By 1965 a civil war explodes and Miqueas had to return to Puerto Rico. In 1967, once the situation was normalized, Miqueas returns to the Dominican Republic, specifically, Santo Domingo where, through the Dominican brothers Ernestina Castro and Sixto Castro, who had also joined the church in Puerto Rico, established a congregation there. On September 8, 1967, a service is carried out in the capital city, marking the return of Mita's message to those lands. On March 20, 1968, The Person of Mita returns to the Dominican Republic, now in the capital city and there holds several services where hundreds of souls join the Work of Mita.

The Church continued to grow and already had congregations in some neighborhoods of the city of Santo Domingo, in Santiago and in Azua de Compostela. In 1970 is when the vast expansion of the congregation began throughout the country. On August 10, 1970, Aaron arrives in the Dominican Republic. The Work extends through Boca de Mao, Maizal, Laguna Salada, Valverde, Bonao, San Francisco, Moca, Cotuí, Villa Vásquez, Puerto Plata, San Juan, Villarpando, San Cristóbal, San Pedro, Hato Mayor, among others. In addition to extending widely to the most populous neighborhoods of Santo Domingo and Santiago. On July 15, 1973, the first temple of the Dominican Republic was inaugurated on María Montez Street, number 343. On July 15, 1979, the temple of the Mita Congregation in Santiago de los Caballeros was inaugurated, becoming the headquarters of the north of the country.

In the successive years, the church continued to grow and Aarón saw the need to build a new temple in the Dominican capital. This dream project began in June 2000 and was completed on June 21, 2003. This new temple has capacity for 3,500 people sitting. Currently, there are more than 120 congregations throughout the Dominican Republic, 30 temples and about 8 music bands.

HEALTH TESTIMONIES

There are thousands of testimonies, miracles, and wonders that the Holy Spirit, with His new name Mita, has done in the Dominican Republic. Among them, one we want to stand out is the one that occurred with Brother José Ferreras Librado in 1981. Our brother had been suffering from heart problems for some time. During a service led by the Corps of Guards in the Temple of Santo Domingo, our brother José, who was part of that Corps, took participation by declaiming a poem. Given the emotion of taking that participation in front of Aarón, his blood pressure problems worsened, causing an acute heart attack in the midst of that crowd. Aarón quickly sends the doctor and member of the church Radhames Rodríguez (Rodrigón) to give him first aid. When Dr. Rodríguez arrived to where Brother José was, he realizes that he had no pulse and had suffered a fulminant infarction causing death in the spot. He makes Aarón signal of what happened. Aarón, upon learning of that situation, stops the service, gets off the pulpit and goes to the inert body of Brother José Ferreras Librado. He puts his hands on the brother and in a powerful voice exclaims: "Death, he is not yours, get away,"> and tells the brother: "Come, I call you, I rebuke the death from you.". At that time, Brother José opened his eyes and quickly returned, causing the astonishment of many visitors that were present. His heart problems disappeared and lived almost 30 years after that event.

Another testimony that we want to share occurred on more recent days with Sister Durgia Herasme (Anthony). In mid-2021, our sister felt prostrated in bed with severe bone marrow cancer. This caused that she had to be taken care of by Church sisters and family members. Her situation was still aggravated and doctors no longer gave her hope of life. Given that chaotic situation, Rosinín communicated by phone with our sister Anthony and made her a powerful prayer and, at the end of prayer, she said: "Anthony, everything will be fine. You're going to walk; you're going to be healthy and you're going to look for Mita's souls". Our sister was completely healthy, she got up from that bed, started walking and doing all her daily activities. She is back in her ministry as a preacher and again playing her saxophone in the Santo Domingo band.
